President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted harshly to the shelling of the town, saying that the (Russian) terrorists were not human, and that they would be held responsible for the atrocity.

According to Kyrylenko, the Russian invaders attacked the city center, in particular, the market, bus station, gas station, and residential buildings.

“Another crime by the Russians on our land – we are recording it and overcoming the consequences. The invaders will be held responsible for everything,” Kyrylenko said.

Law enforcement officers and medics are working at the scene.

Kyrylo Tymoshenko, Deputy Head of the President’s Office, later clarified that the initial reported death toll of six had risen to eight.
