Electric rates going down in NH

Public Service of New Hampshire electric rates going down for residential customers

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) -- New Hampshire's largest electric utility says its rates are going down.

Public Service of New Hampshire says its energy service charge is going down nearly 10 percent beginning Monday.

When combined with other rate components, the company says a typical residential electric bill will fall by about 5 percent. A bill for a home using 500 kilowatt hours a month will drop $4.68 a month, to $87.75.

The utility serves about 500,000 homes and businesses throughout the state.
