Rosie O'Donnell hasn't even returned to "The View" yet, and it feels like we're in the midst of the show's Hot Topics segment.
After commenting on Rosie's return to the daytime talk show on "Fox & Friends," and Joy Behar calling her out for the comments, former reality star-turned-talk show host-turned Fox News talking head Elisabeth Hasselbeck continues to speak out - or something she would refer to as her "analysis."
"I don't hate Rosie," she wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday night. "I actually called to talk to her 7 years ago. She did not want to speak to me."
Elisabeth then went on to quote Rosie from 2007, the same year of their infamous split screen TV showdown that ended with Rosie leaving the show.
"I am happy to have a #momversation about why I would never defend her 2007 comments below: O'Donnell 'I just want to say something: 655,000 Iraqi civilians are dead. Who are the terrorists?...If you were in Iraq, and another country, the United States, the richest in the world, invaded your country and killed 655,000 of your citizens, what would you call us?'" she wrote, quoting Rosie.
Elisabeth explained why she was chiming in on Rosie's return in the post, writing that she was asked to provide her "analysis" of the situation and "When the next two chairs get filled, if asked, I will provide my analysis."
Earlier this week, Elisabeth said of Rosie, "Here comes to 'The View' the very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network, and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there."
Joy Behar, who worked with both of the TV personalities on the ABC series, called out Elisabeth while speaking with CNN's Don Lemon.
"What does she mean by that? And isn't it kind of a nasty thing to say about somebody who basically is a good person? I thought that was really kind of below the belt - to say that she spits in the face of the military... That's a dangerous thing to say about somebody. ... I think it's a hate-filled remark. And she should explain it," Joy said.
