    Emma Watson Goes Glam For 'Harry Potter' Premiere: 'Thought I'd Better Make An Effort'

    To chants of "Emma! Emma! Emma!" the lovely Emma Watson hit the premiere of "Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows - Part 2" in London's Trafalgar Square on Thursday full of emotion.

    "I am completely overwhelmed. It's absolutely incredible," the actress told interviewer Alex Zane, one of the hosts of the premiere's official live stream from London.

    Emma was decked out in a gorgeous white, mock-strapless dress, with a giant skirt that offered hints of gray and blue.

    "This is sort of the least I could do, considering -- I think people have been camped out here for three days," Emma said of choosing the ball gown to give the fans a show. "Thought I'd better make an effort."

    When asked if she'll miss spending time with the franchise's main stars, Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry Potter, and Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley, Emma said she would - and she'd also miss her character.

    "I will really miss those boys," she said. "I will really miss Rupert and Dan. I will really miss being Hermione and living in her world."

    The final film in the series will feature a kiss between Hermione and Ron, and Emma said the moment wasn't quite as romantic to film as it comes across on screen.

    "We knew that we'd been building the anticipation of this moment for 10 years... It'd been going on for so long. Rupert and I really wanted to make sure it lived up to all the hype," she said. "We were nervous, it was awkward, but I think we did the moment justice."

    Emma added that the moment was also filled with water.

    "The funny thing about it is the moment before we kissed, we get soaked with a vat of water so we had that going on as well," she laughed.

    While sad to be at the end of the film series, Emma said she was pleased to have played a character who goes through so much change.

    "In the early days, she was just very eager to please, very eager to do well... and she became a much more subtle character... as the films developed," Emma said.

    When asked if she had any message for the droves of fans in Trafalgar Square and around the world, Emma said their support has meant quite a bit over the years.

    "It's overwhelming to try and find the words to say what I want to say... I've just been so privileged to play this role and be part of these films," the emotional actress said. "Thank you all of so much for you love and support."

    "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2" opens on July 15.

      It has been a pleasure to see these young people grow up! All of my children love all the characters and actually grew up with them. I will the entire cast all the best the world has to offer them! Looking forward to seeing what is next for these wonderful young people!

      It's so hard to believe it's the end. Obviously, the last book marked the end, but the last movie seems to make it too final. Thankfully, the books will always be around when we need them.

      I find it very refreshing to see an actress who is actually appreciative of her fans instead of just getting up on the stage with the attitude of "yes, I'm great and beautiful, look at me." I hope she can hold on to that.

      I can't believe it's really the end! I will miss waiting for the new Harry Potter movies to come out. I will miss Ron, but hopefully I will see more of Rupert on the big screen ;) Love them all as if I knew them!

      i'm just so overcome with emotions right now... i literally grew up with this series. i was also 11 when the movies came out and simultaneously became a fan of the books. i was 18 when the final book was published and now at 22 with final movie to be released i feel as though a large part of not just my childhood but a source of my happiness and dreams came from harry potter. it is never really the end though. as harry had said about dumbledore dying, he will only be gone if nobody stays loyal to him. i think the story of harry will forever live on because the fans will stay loyal to him forever <3
