How to enable Android 5.0′s most important new feature: Battery saver
Google’s latest and greatest mobile software is finally upon us, and there is plenty to love about Android 5.0. The most obvious change is the new look of the user interface in Lollipop, which Google calls Material Design. Characterized by a great use of shadows and bright, bold colors, Material Design propels Android’s interface into the future and makes it a real pleasure to use.
But there are plenty of other changes that impact the user experience, and the most important one may be Google’s new battery saver mode.

Battery saver mode is a feature that some vendor versions of Android have had for a while, but with Android 5.0, everyone will gain access to a truly optimized version of this feature. When enabled, battery saver does exactly what you think it would do: It helps conserve battery life.
In fact, Google claims that enabling battery saver mode will squeeze an extra hour and a half of battery life out of your device.
As CNET notes, battery saver can be enabled by opening your Lollipop device’s settings and going to Battery. Then tap the menu button and select “Battery saver.”
Now, you can simply enable the feature by toggling the slider at the top of the screen.
Alternatively, if you’re running a device with stock Android, you can enable battery saver mode by pulling down the Android notification shade and tapping on the battery icon. You’ll then find “Battery saver” among the options after you tap the menu button.
