MILAN (Reuters) - Italy's Enel Green Power has won projects to supply 513 megawatt of photovoltaic and wind energy in South Africa, the company said on Thursday, marking a significant step forward in its plans to expand in Africa.
The six contracts, which envisage a total investment of about 630 million euros, were signed with Eskom and are part of the South African government's renewable energy program, it said in a statement.
The projects will start operating in 2016.
