Jackson, Wyoming (PRWEB) July 22, 2011
Artist Dwayne Harty, whose painting “Strength & Vulnerability” is featured on the 2011 Jackson Hole Arts Festival poster, has a special and timely connection to the region as well: he was commissioned by the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative (Y2Y) to paint landscapes and wildlife in some of the most remote sections of the mountain migratory corridor – many never before captured on canvas – for an exhibition traveling from Jackson’s National Museum of Wildlife Art to the Whyte Museum in Banff, Canada. In addition to a poster signing presentation on September 14, Harty will speak at the Western Design Conference September 8.
This year’s roundup of art festival doings in Jackson, Wyoming, also includes the Palates & Palettes gallery walk on September 9; the crowd-pleasing Taste of the Tetons September 11; the National Museum of Wildlife Art’s Western Visions Wild West Artist Party and Miniatures and More Show & Sale with more than a hundred artists in attendance on September 15 and 16; the popular QuickDraw Art Sale and Auction in Town Square on September 17, and much more. And the preeminent exhibition of Western decorative arts and fashion, the Western Design Conference, runs from September 8 – 11, featuring its museum-style exhibit and sale.
Conveniently located just 20 minutes from the Jackson Hole Airport, Jackson is served by major airlines including United, Continental, and Delta; Frontier also flies into Jackson through September 10, 2011.
