Red carpets, superstars and gowns may not be at the center of Giuliana Rancic's universe anymore, but that doesn't mean she isn't still a huge fan.

"I still love it. I love watching red carpet," says the former E! News co-anchor and Red Carpet Live co-host who famously worked alongside Ryan Seacrest covering awards season for the network. "I mean, I did it for 20 years and there was never a dull moment."

After retiring from E! in 2021 Rancic, 49, stepped into her current role working with HSN and just last week launched her new home line G by Giuliana Home.

It's a very different world — but she's still putting her interview skills to use.

"I can't help myself," she says. "Even when I'm on set and I'm talking about the products and the line, if the host brings up something about her life, forget it. I'll ask a million follow up questions. I'm like, 'Wait, how long have you guys been married?' I'm just intrigued by other people."

It's a trait that served Rancic well during her tenure as an entertainment correspondent and red carpet host, once the career of her dreams.

"I moved to this country as a little girl from Italy, and when we moved to America I loved everything about this notion of Hollywood," she recalls. "After grad school I moved to L.A. on a whim to pursue TV hosting, and it was incredible."

But that said, she reached a point where she wanted to watch rather than be watched.

"I remember doing red carpet interviews and I'm in a gown and millions of people are watching all around the world live," she says. "I'm interviewing the biggest star in the world and I'm thinking to myself, 'This is so great, but I can't wait until one day I'm going to be able to sit at home and watch this. I'm going to be in my sweats or my PJs, eating whatever I want, just taking it all in."

Her life was fabulous, but it was also tough work. "I loved it so much, but it's like at the end of the day, you still have a job to do," she says. "You've got a million things to juggle, and people in your ear talking, people speaking to you on the platform, it's like, it's a lot."

When it comes to HSN, she's entered into a much more relaxed and creative space. "I design about 15 collections a year," she says of her fashion line for the network.

For her latest spring-themed G by Giuliana Home line, "I thought, 'Why don't I bring my fashion point of view into the home space?' It's like elevated fashion forward pieces for the home and unexpected prints and patterns."

Now, Rancic says designing for HSN doesn't feel like work.

"It's my hobby," she says, "I love it." And it allows more time to spend with her family, including her mom, who she teamed up with to launch Mama Depandi food and beverage line on HSN last year.

Says Rancic: "She makes the most amazing pasta dishes. This was my mom's dream."

When it comes to her peaceful life now with her husband of 17 years, Bill Rancic, and their son Duke, 11, "I'm good," emphasizes Rancic, who's been in remission from breast cancer for 13 years.

"I was talking to Bill earlier, and it's just wild," she says. "There's been highs and lows and [it's] just [been] an incredible journey."
