    Epcot Flower & Garden Festival in Full Swing

    Visitors to the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., are in for a treat as they explore the attractions at the Epcot theme park. In addition to several fast-paced thrill rides, the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is in full bloom. According to the official Disney website, the festival began March 7 and runs through May 20 and features special displays and activities.

    How much is admission?

    Like many special festivals throughout the Disney theme parks, admission to the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is included with theme park admission; however, as the Disney website reports some events like workshops could require additional admission.

    What can visitors expect?

    As Disunplugged.com reports, visitors can expect all sorts of topiary displays in the form of several Disney characters. BehindtheThrills.com reports as visitors approach the entrance to Epcot they are greeted by a massive floral display depicted the legendary Disney animated film "Fantasia." In addition, visitors can expect a number of garden displays and special activities for children. In short, lots of color and professionally decorated sculptures with the usual Disney flair.

    As BehindtheThrills.com reports, Bambi's Butterfly House is a special structure that allows visitors to explore a vast ecosystem populated by butterflies in different stages of their lives. Bambi's Butterfly House is a small part of the colorful and festive displays that can be found throughout the sprawling theme park.

    Are there any special events during the festival?

    Perhaps some of the more popular events during the festival is the Flower Power Concert series, as indicated on the Disney website. Concerts are held three times per day on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the festival in the America Gardens Pavilion.

    Is the festival held at the same time every year?

    While the Disney website indicates the festival takes place every spring, the exact dates change from year to year. Folks wishing to visit the parks specifically to attend the festival should check the website frequently for updates on the 2013 dates.
