Eset Cyber Security for Mac review
Eset Cyber Security provides real-time protection from malware. The software can be enabled to keep you away from dangerous websites, especially those that may be employing phishing techniques in order to harvest your private information.
Pros
Tools section: In the tools section of the program, there are a number of options that can provide useful data to you. The ability to retrieve log files easily is welcome if you're trying to get data on a problem you may have had. The display graph with statistics and the ability to schedule any of the Cyber Security tasks are welcome as well. You can also view quarantined files from this pane.
Effective scanning: In testing, Eset Cyber Security did find a few, small objects that hadn't been found by prior scans by competing protective software.
Cons
Confusing interface: When you open up the control panel for this program, it is not clear at all what your options are. Items are just labeled with titles like "Eset Social Media Scanner" with no explanation as to what clicking on that item will do.
Performance issues: Eset Cyber Security slowed down both Web browsing and other operations while it was installed on the system. The difference in performance was noticeable when the program was active versus inactive.
Bottom Line
If you absolutely need a virus protection solution for your Mac, Eset Cyber Security will do the job. It provides reasonably good protection and tools. However, it is a slow program with an unclear interface. Products manufactured by competitors in this segment are easier to use and don't slow down a system in the same way.
