European Space Agency captures stunning video of lightning from space

Electrical storms can create a pretty exciting light show in the sky, but lightning is even more spectacular when seen 250 miles from Earth.

Thanks to the astronauts of the European Space Agency, who have been snapping celestial images of cities with their NightPod camera since 2012, now we Earthlings can also enjoy the beauty of lightning from space. This captivating video was taken from the International Space Station, and while the astronauts were orbiting Earth at 17,895 mph, the super-high-tech camera allowed them to keep the light show in focus.
