        animals dont have the power to defend themselves... humans kill animals because... they can... who cares about abortion? the world is overpopulated, if someone decides to have their OWN child aborted, so be it, who are we to decide....

        I'm a conservative, and I am more interested than the rhinos than an aborted fetus. Until it is born, it isn't a child. And I dont think too many people outside the serial killer world support aborting children. Also, legalized abortion dramatically contributes to lower crime rates. I am a big fan of lower crime. Your supposition that "conservatives" are against abortion is flawed. There are plenty of conservatives that have absolutely no problem with legal abortion.

      The white population of the Northern Hemisphere is also becoming extinct but no public outcry on that.Only when we cannot support all the welfare programs then the outcry will start in earnest.

      Noah was the first person tasked by God to preserve the diversity of life on this planet. As the descendants of Noah, it is our absolute duty to follow his lead. Anyone who is more concerned with their cable TV, their lattes, their gas prices, their silly material greed over preserving God's wonders will be seriously disappointed when they are denied entry at the gates of Heaven. How quickly the lessons of the Ark are forgotten by Man.

      I have visited this amazing Zoo about 5 times over 15 years or so. I wish them well as the folks in this town - my wifes- share a deep concern with the animals they tend to. really a fine Zoo.

      If you believe in evolution and survival of the fittest why would you want to save an animal? Would you not be holding back the rest of the species in their evolving process?

        Ross you trully dont understand the theory of survival of the fittest and natural selection. rhinos arent being selected they arent being destroyed by nature humans have consumed everything and have killed most of them it is not natural. in nature is a species is depleting because of consumption nature it self fixes it by starvation of the predator and both species reach an equilibrium one that will never be reached here casue humans are always hunting no matter what.

        I can't believe people are so paranoid at the possible loss of a minor material comfort or two (oh no, I have to switch to basic cable!) that they would callously look away and let one of God's creatures go extinct. We as humans, starting with Noah, were tasked to shepherd these creatures and preserve them. Those like you that are so fixated with your material greed and so spiteful of God's wonders have zero chance of entering the Kingdom of Heaven.
