Everyone Had a Good Laugh About Anthony Weiner's Twitter Problems

Other contenders in the New York City mayor's race called on Anthony Weiner to drop out during a candidate forum last night, but instead everyone just chuckled about his problems with social networking. During a "lightning round" of questions that were posed during the event at Bronx Community College, all the candidates were asked "Facebook or Twitter?", a moment that drew a lot of snickering from the audience and some comedic mugging from Wiener. Some of his Democratic opponents, including Bill Thompson and Bill de Blasio, have stated that Weiner's past is a distraction that should force him of the race. Yet, Weiner remains defiant. When  the topic of his newest sexting scandal was raised by his opponents at the forum, he said "If you want to play to the cameras, that’s your ability. I’m here having a serious conversation about issues."

We're still about six weeks out from the Democratic primary, and despite the banner headlines and increasingly salacious stories, (and people following him around dressed as "Carlos Danger") the former Congressman seems determined to see his campaign through to the end.
