Everything to Know About the Dan Harmon, Charlie Kaufman Kickstarter

If anyone had "start a Kickstarter" in the "what is Dan Harmon going to do after Community?" pool, please come collect your winnings. Harmon is teaming up with Community's Starburns to produce a movie written by a very little known writer named, oh, Charlie Kaufman.

This Is the Weirdest Stop-Motion Animated Movie Ever

Produced by Harmon with a script by Kaufman, the project is a 40 minute stop-motion animation movie named Anomalisa about "a man crippled by the mundanity of his life." Harmon, of course, is famous for being the guy who made Community into whatever Community is, and then got fired for it. Kaufman wrote some movies you might seen, like Adaptation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Being John Malkovich, or even Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. It's going to be directed by Duke Johnson, who did Community's stop-motion Christmas episode. Dino Stamatopoulos, aka Star-Burns on Community, is also an executive producer. Imagine sitting at that dinner table for a moment.

You Could Be An Executive Producer

You could have your name immortalized onscreen as an executive producer for the paltry sum of $10,000. Yes, for that small fee you'll be recognized onscreen beside Harmon and Stamatopoulos as an executive producer. For $100 you can get a "special thank you" on screen, but that's lame. That's like an associate producer credit. It's something you give your secretary instead of a raise. Oh, and there was an opportunity to pledge $5,000 and get a personal 20 page script about your life written by Harmon. Thousands of 20-somethings were searching their couches for change, but one lucky duck had the disposable cash to buy up the limited quantity of one.

They're Funding Projects with Louis CK and Robert Smigel with the Extra Money

Per the project's pitch video, Starburns Industries, the name of the production company, is going to use any extra cash donated to fund projects they have lined up with Louis CK and Robert Smigel. Which, okay, yes. That is why we encourage everyone to donate to this project. So we can see those things. Those things sound amazing.

They've raised $35,473 dollars as of 9:51 p.m. on Wednesday evening, and they've only been up for a few hours. Their goal is to make $200,000 to fund the whole project.
