The Chanel show is the Fashion Week presentation that we all look forward to each season. It usually boasts the likes of Kristen Stewart, Julianne Moore and Cara Delevingne in the FROW and Kendall Jenner taking the catwalk by storm.

But it’s not just the fashion and the A list attendees that get everyone talking - it’s the show-stopping sets that Karl Lagerfeld has grown so famous for.

This season, for the brand’s AW16 preview, Lagerfeld promoted every one of his guests to the front row and sat them on chic golden chairs placed back-to-back in the Grand Palais - the French capital venue that every Chanel show is held at.

There was no neck craning: Every guest was able to see the luxe label’s new season offerings - and Kendall Jenner take to the runway for yet another Chanel show. But what was noticeable was the low-key nature of the set-up. There were no icebergs shipped in from other countries, no giant lions and no purpose-built supermarkets for the model’s to trot around.

Instead, the show was fairly sedate - for a change - and set up like an old-fashioned salon.

But it was as starry as ever. Pharrell, Karen Elsen, Jada Pinkett Smith and her daughter Willow sat FROW and, as previously mentioned, Kendall Jenner was one of the many top models in the lie-up.

The 20-year-old took to the runway in a blush piece ensemble, made up of a cropped and hooded jacket and an A-line skirt with a drop waist. Other looks included core Chanel aesthetic components: pearls, twin sets and boucle wool were everywhere.

Gigi Hadid, who walked with Kendall in Chanel’s haute couture show earlier this year, also walked for the luxe brand.

The blonde model wore a quilted cream jacket with wool-lined sleeves and a matching scarf, as well as natural make-up.

The show’s make-up was just as inspiring. You may be able to spot the masterful “quilted” eye shadow used on the models in the Instagram snaps above - and if not then you can get a closer look below.

Created by Tom Pecheux, the stencilled shadow was applied to resemble Chanel’s infamous handbag print.
