Evidence mounts against the release of a new 4-inch iPhone in 2015

The idea of Apple releasing a 4-inch iPhone in 2015 might not be as farfetched as it sounds, but the latest report from the Wei Feng Network indicates that the rumors may have been just that. Citing supply chain sources, the Wei Feng Network states that Apple has not made any orders which would indicate a 4-inch device is in the works.

LAST TIME: Even more evidence that the ‘iPhone 6s mini’ is coming this year

Late last year, a supply chain rumor hinted that Apple’s 2015 lineup might include a “mini” iPhone. This rumor was then backed up by multiple analysts over the past few weeks, but there has been no hard evidence regarding the device up until now.

Considering both reports seemed to originate from supply chains, we’re effectively at a stalemate. Apple’s ability to control leaks has become increasingly ineffective in recent years, so if an iPhone 6s mini is going to be included in the lineup, there’s a pretty good chance we’ll know about it (or perhaps even see it) long before it launches.

Until then, Apple fans will have to settle for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, two of the most commercially and critically successful devices the company has ever released.
