Ex church youth leader, 76, seen molesting girl at restaurant, Pennsylvania cops say

Police arrested a 76-year-old Pennsylvania man after witnesses saw him molesting a young girl in public, officials say.

The man, later identified as Roy Andrews, was at a restaurant in Upper Allen Township on April 7 when it happened, police said in a news release. Customers contacted authorities after witnessing him “sexually molest a young female child.”

Police launched an investigation, which led them to Andrews. On April 22, officers searched his home in neighboring Mechanicsburg, and he tried to run away and resisted arrest, police said.

“Officers were eventually able to arrest Andrews and he was transported to Cumberland County Central Booking for processing and arraignment,” the department said.

Through their investigation, police learned Andrews had been involved with a Hispanic church in Harrisburg called Iglesia La Fuenta, working as a youth group leader from 2014 to 2022.

An investigation is still underway and police are looking to find other possible victims.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the department at 717-795-2445.

Andrews was arrested on charges of unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault, corruption of minors, endangering welfare of children and resisting arrest, police said.

Upper Allen Township is a roughly 110-mile drive northwest of Philadelphia.
