That was quick. Two days after he exited ABC’s The View following a rocky one-season run as executive producer, Bill Wolff has been named executive producer of Chelsea Handler’s new talk show for Netflix, set for a 2016 debut. The show, which will be produced in Los Angeles, will reflect Handler’s unfiltered opinions on topical entertainment and cultural issues, as well as her signature guest interviews.

“Bill is the visionary we have been looking for to create a dynamic new format that’s global, informative and entertaining,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos. “He brings new creativity and fresh conversations to the talk show format that the on-demand generation and Chelsea’s audience will care about.”

Handler landed at Netflix after a long run at E!, where she hosted late-night talk show Chelsea Lately for seven seasons until her highly publicized exit in 2014

Wolff most recently served as executive producer of Season 18 of The View, which was plagued with behind-the-scenes drama, leading to a slew of departures and a hosting panel turnover. From 2005-14, he was VP Primetime Programming at MSNBC, where he created and executive produced The Rachel Maddow Show from 2008-14. He began his career at ESPN and won two Emmy Awards for Best Sports Journalism (1990 and 1996) for the network’s Outside The Lines. Following ESPN, Wolff embarked on a career as a screenwriter and penned the 2005 Fox movie Rebound.
