In excellent move, Kanye West casts Scott Disick as Patrick Bateman
In one of the most excellent casting choices in all of music video history, Kanye West has picked his future brother-in-law, Scott Disick, to play Patrick Bateman in his “American Psycho” themed video.
Disick, the long-lost cousin of the fictional Bret Easton Ellis character, has long drawn comparisons to Bateman due to his terrifying, soulless eyes, sociopathic tendencies, slicked back hair and bouts of rage, as seen on”Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” (Disick is the father of Kourtney Kardashian’s two children, which is the only reason he is remotely relevant.)
According to The New York Post, West is going to recreate the “American Psycho” scene in which Bateman delivers an incredible monologue about Huey Lewis and the News as he slips on a raincoat and hacks his colleague, Paul Allen, to death with an axe. (It’s a lot funnier than it sounds.)
The “American Psycho” bit is reportedly to promote West’s forthcoming album, “Yeezus” — yes, he is referring to himself as Jesus.
West reportedly wanted James Franco to play Bateman, but he turned it down, which is better anyway because Disick is a far better choice.
