New exhibition opens at O'Keeffe Museum

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — A new collection of work is on display at the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe.

The exhibition "Modern Nature: Georgia O'Keeffe and Lake George" opens Friday and will run through Jan. 26.

Museum officials say it's the first exhibit to focus specifically on the art O'Keeffe produced while spending summers along the shores of Lake George in New York's Adirondacks.

The exhibition features magnified botanical compositions of flowers and vegetables she grew in her garden, telescopic views of tree leaves, weathered barns and colorful abstract depictions of the surrounding landscape.

Nearly five dozen works gathered from public and private collections make up the exhibit.
