Expert gives cat taming tips after Oregon attack

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The black-and-white cat that clawed at a baby who pulled its tail and cornered an Oregon family in a bedroom has touched off an Internet divide that worries cat behaviorist Jackson Galaxy.

The star of Animal Planet's "My Cat from Hell" is headed to Portland to help the cat named Lux and the family, who had to be rescued from the room by police.

Galaxy says cats don't turn on their families for no reason. He says it could be a chemical imbalance, environmental stress, or because the animal was kicked.

He says he's seen cats act out like Lux because of an abscess tooth, a brain tumor, hyperthyroidism or diabetes.

Lux's story will be featured on Galaxy's show this season.
