The 14,000-square-foot facility will serve more than 100 kids when it opens. Explora is currently hosting 25 children under five as a pilot program for the project.

“Recognizing that we can develop the children of CNM students today, and those will expand to children in our community getting access to this education, but it also helps the adults that have those children that are pursuing their education and can contribute to the workforce and our economy as well,” said Chief Administrative Officer Samantha Sengel, City of Albuquerque.

They hope to break ground on the center by the end of the year.
