KABUL (AP) — A powerful explosion has shaken buildings in Kabul and smoke is billowing east of the Afghan capital.

A police official says initial reports were that a car bomb exploded Thursday morning in front of a member of parliament's house east of the city. Officer Jahn Agha says there has been no confirmation of casualties.
