    Explosive new book: JFK’s dark affair with 19-year-old WH intern

    In a new tell-all book, “Once Upon a Secret: My Affair with President John F. Kennedy and Its Aftermath,” now-69-year-old Mimi Alford writes candidly about her eighteen-month affair with the former president, starting when she was a 19-year-old White House intern.

    A review by the New York Post summarizes some of the explosive details of the book, including Kennedy taking the intern’s virginity, pimping her out to “first friend” David Powers while he watched, forcing her to take drugs, helping to put her in touch with a then-illegal abortion doctor during a false-alarm pregnancy scare, flying her to Washington from her all-girls school while his wife was away and, in a dark moment of weakness during the Cuban Missile Crisis, admitting that he would rather see his children “red than dead.”

    Throughout it all, they never kissed. “The wide gulf between us — the age, the power, the experience —  guaranteed our affair would never evolve into anything serious,” Alford writes.

    First spotting Alford in the White House pool, Kennedy instructed Powers to invite her to a party that evening. After Alford had drank a number of daiquiris, Kennedy gave her a “tour” of the White House, where he took her virginity in first lady Jackie Kennedy’s bedroom.

    “The fact that I was being desired by the most famous and powerful man in America only amplified my feelings to the point where resistance was out of the question,” Alford writes. “That’s why I didn’t say no to the president. It’s the best answer I can give.”

    “On one excursion, she met Vice President Lyndon Johnson,” the Post reports. “When she told the president about the introduction, he lost his composure. ‘Stay away from him,’ he commanded, likely worried that Johnson could use knowledge of the affair against him.” (RELATED: New tapes reveal that Jackie Kennedy believed LBJ was behind JFK’s assassination)

    The book, available nationwide, is likely to stir controversy, shifting public attention to dark aspects of the former president’s legacy. There has been no word from serial Kennedy biographer and MSNBC host Chris Matthews about how future renderings of the Washington “Camelot” legacy might accommodate Alford’s disturbing presidential portrait.         I do not play that game ... Republican vs. Democrat ... I do not have a high opinion of most politicians in general. Most lack character. It just goes to show that what you see is not so much what you get. Obviously JFK was not a thoughtful person.

      no one believes in the camelot delusion jackie o put out there. she did it to hide the real truths in the white house and kennedy family. she put up with a lot because she had too. divorce was never and option. kennedy was taught these ways by his father. get over the drama people, he was only a real human male. not a saint in any way, not god like just a regular person.

      Yes, JFK was a lousy husband. That whole generation of Kennedys were rich, adulterous, entitled rich jerks. If we had the information technology then that we have now, I doubt he would've been able to keep it secret at the time, and it would've ruined his political career, just like it's ruined so many politicians these days. But, 50 years ago, things were different and it was a long time ago. They're all dead, so who cares? You want retroactive disgust? Okay, you've got it. Now what?

      LBJ bragged he got more by accident than JFK got on purpose. LBJ was rumored to have gotten 6 of his 8 secretaries pregnant. In 1967 I was nearly run off the road by a very drunk appearing LBJ outside of Johnson City Tx. My dad and I stopped at the drug store in JC. Pop asked what the chance of the president coming in the store. Not a chance in hell replied the druggist...I have barred the *&^% from my store. LBJ wanted the druggist to fill perscriptions by Presidential Order. The druggist said he told that pillhead LBJ that he would get drugs only by a doctors orders. LBJ went into a rage and said there was no higher law in the land than a Presidential Order and demanded the drugs. The druggist told LBJ that his Secret Service could take the druggist out back and kick his #$%^...but no drugs and do not come back. Being president is a tough job...but do not even think anyone of them was a choir boy.

      This is entirely consistent with JFK. The Kennedy's are about money, power, and women and intertwining all 3 wherever possible. Look at the history of CITIZENS ENERGY where Joe Kennedy is pulling 500k a year and who know's what else from the othe entities. where they got a charitable entityp mixed in with a dozen other profitable corps. Look at the late Micheal Kennedy(died playing touch ball while skiing, despite being told not to), and his involvement with the underage babysitter - a babysitter who's father made hundreds of millions if not billions in revenues off govt contracts (ambulance company) - and who's mother suicided (stepped off a building in Boston) in despair. Yes, they hide behind the poor, but its really about them, Now we have a Kennedy family member (woman) who set to make 20 million plus "advising" (or PR or something) some south country on a lawsuit (if successful) against some oil company, a non-lawyer by the way
