Exxon Mobil names Xerox CEO to board

IRVING, Texas (AP) — Exxon Mobil Corp. said Friday that Xerox Corp. chairman and CEO Ursula M. Burns will join its board of directors on Nov. 27.

Burns has been a Xerox director since 2007. She was named CEO of the office-equipment company in 2009 and chairman in 2010. She is also a director of American Express Corp.

Burns holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Polytechnic Institute of NYU and a master's in mechanical engineering from Columbia University.

The addition of Burns will give the Exxon board 12 members; including Chairman and CEO Rex W. Tillerson and 11 outside directors.
