Falcons OL Johnson injures leg at practice
Offensive tackle Mike Johnson left the Atlanta Falcons' training camp practice on Tuesday with suffering a dislocated left ankle and broken leg, coach Mike Smith said.
Johnson, who was carted off the field and taken to a hospital in an ambulance, will need surgery next wee, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. There was no immediate timetable on when Johnson might return.
The 26-year-old Johnson was listed atop the team's depth chart but was competing with Lamar Holmes for a starting job. His loss impacts the depth on the Falcons' relatively thin offensive line.
Johnson, a third-year pro, played in 16 games and started one last year for the Falcons.
