In deeper fantasy baseball leagues, finding useful pitchers on the waiver wire can be a very difficult task. With most popular free agent choices already owned, owners in deeper or AL/NL-only leagues often have to dig at even less popular pitchers for fantasy production. Here's a look at five pitchers owned in less than 10% of Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Baseball leagues* who are worth adding for Week 11.
SP Bruce Chen, Kansas City Royals (8% owned*)
Statistics*: 75.0 IP, 5 W, 0 SV, 53 K, 4.44 ERA, 1.23 WHIP
In his two Week 10 starts, Chen had a respectable three runs allowed and 10 strikeouts in 12 innings pitched. While he faced easier opponents in the Minnesota Twins and Pittsburgh Pirates, Chen has been a solid option for strikeouts and is a useful option in AL-only leagues. While his next test against the St. Louis Cardinals will be a tough one, Chen's overall numbers and consistency make him a worthwhile addition to owners' pitching staffs.
RP Stephen Pryor, Seattle Mariners (5% owned)
Statistics: 5.0 IP, 1 W, 0 SV, 5 K, 1.80 ERA, 1.20 WHIP
A dynamic reliever in the minors, Pryor was only drafted in the 2010 draft but is already receiving a chance to pitch at the major league level. So far pitching well in five appearances for the Mariners, Pryor is rumored to be a possible closer down the line this season since Brandon League was removed from the role and if Tom Wilhelmsen struggles. He's a speculation add only, but he could be a closer before the end of the season.
SP Randall Delgado, Atlanta Braves (5% owned)
Statistics: 61.1 IP, 4 W, 0 SV, 49 K, 4.26 ERA, 1.37 WHIP
Coming off two impressive wins over the Cardinals and Miami Marlins, Delgado is one of the few two-start options in Week 11. With better control over his pitches and striking out more hitters as of late for the Braves, Delgado is worth a look against the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles this week.
SP Randy Wolf, Milwaukee Brewers (3% owned)
Statistics: 67.2 IP, 2 W, 0 SV, 41 K, 5.45 ERA, 1.63 WHIP
Despite owning a 2-5 season win-loss record and an ERA over five, Wolf has had some better outings as of late for the Brewers. From a few strong efforts recently and better strikeout numbers as of late, Wolf is worth considering for a Week 11 start against the Royals.
RP Manuel Corpas, Chicago Cubs (0% owned)
Statistics: 4.0 IP, 0 W, 0 SV, 3 K, 0.00 ERA, 0.75 WHIP
For the first time this season, Corpas saw major league action in games against the Brewers and Minnesota Twins. Now a member of the lacking Cubs bullpen, Corpas is just looking to solidify his spot on the roster. With few good reliever options and hope to find his success from back in 2007, Corpas is worth watching as a possible dark horse closer in Chicago.
*Percentage owned numbers for Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Baseball leagues and player statistics accurate as of June 10, 2012. IP: Innings Pitched, W: Wins, SV: Saves, K: Strikeouts, ERA: Earned Run Average, WHIP: Walks + Hits / Innings Pitched.
