    Fashion Luncheon Raises Over Three-Quarters of a Million Dollars To-Date for Blood Cancer Research

    Lymphoma Research Foundation’s sixth annual south Florida luncheon enormous success.

    More than 5,000 people were diagnosed with lymphoma – the most common form of blood cancer – in Florida last year alone. To raise critical funds for blood cancer research, the Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) – the nation’s largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to funding lymphoma research and serving those touched by the disease – held its Sixth Annual South Florida Luncheon on January 30, 2012 at St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida. The Fashion Luncheon was attended by a sold out crowd and raised more than $150,000. To date, the Luncheon has raised over $800,000 to support LRF’s mission of eradicating lymphoma and serving those touched by this type of blood cancer.

    “The South Florida Luncheon was a wonderful success and I am honored to have been a part of it,” said Judith Bronsteen, one of the Luncheon’s co-chairs. “Guests enjoyed a chic fashion show presented by Saks Fifth Avenue, Boca Raton and raised critical funds for blood cancer research; with each South Florida Luncheon I am confident that we get one step closer to finding a cure for lymphoma.”

    Luncheon guests enjoyed a Best of Spring 2012 Fashion Show presented by Saks Fifth Avenue, Boca Raton, as well as a shopping boutique, high-end raffle prizes and an exciting live auction that featured a Canyon Ranch® spa package for two in Tucson, Arizona, and a three night stay at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulfur Springs, West Virginia.

    “It was an honor to partner with the Lymphoma Research Foundation for its Sixth Annual South Florida Luncheon and we look forward to working with LRF on this wonderful event next year,” said Shauna Graham, Marketing Director for Saks Fifth Avenue, Boca Raton. “We were thrilled to present our Best of Spring 2012 Fashion Show and to use fashion to raise awareness and funds for lymphoma.”

    The charity event was co-chaired by Judith Bronsteen, Gladys Cook, Elisabeth Dalfen, Ellen Liebman, Mitzi Oreman and Jane Yudell. Dr. Morton Coleman, Clinical Professor of Medicine at Weill Medical College of Cornell University and the Director of the Center for Lymphoma and Myeloma at New York Presbyterian Hospital, served as the event’s keynote speaker.

    “As the mother of a lymphoma survivor, I know firsthand that the funds raised at the South Florida Fashion Luncheon have had and continue to have a meaningful impact on helping to advance lymphoma research,” said event co-chair Jane Yudell. “I am truly grateful for the generosity and support of all of those who help make the Florida luncheon such an enormous success each year.”
