Some random observations about Olympic Stadium:

—The stadium is located in the south of Olympic Park and has a capacity of 80,000.
—It is surrounded by waterways on three sides and linked to the site surrounding it by five bridges.
—10,000 tons of steel were used to build the stadium; the Bird's Nest in Beijing took 42,000 tons.
—There is an 80-meter track under one of the main stands for the athletes to warm up.
—There are more than 700 rooms within the stadium. That includes four prayer rooms and eight changing rooms.
—The top ring of the stadium was built using surplus gas pipes.
