    FDA is looking at Pa. 'morning-after' pill machine

    The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is gathering facts about a vending machine at a Pennsylvania college that dispenses the "morning-after" pill.

    Spokeswoman Stephanie Yao said Tuesday that the agency is contacting officials with Shippensburg University and in state government.

    The Plan B One Step emergency contraceptive can prevent pregnancy if taken soon after sexual intercourse. It's legally available without a prescription but must be kept behind the pharmacy counter.

    Shippensburg officials note that access to the vending machine in the student health center is restricted.

    Some experts also note there are problems with giving people open access to a drug like the Plan B without having to talk to a doctor.

      I think we should replace soda vending machines in high school with these. It would make for a healthier and happier society.

      I see the Nazi types are alive and well in the Federal government. Lets do the taxpayers a favor and fire the lot. Saves money and whatever you believe you can practice it without the Nazi looking over your shoulder as the pro and anti abortion folks should realize the Nazi look over both their shoulders because the Nazi love power.

        Copeland, you don't think a Nazi is somebody who can tell a catholic institution their religous beliefs do not count? you think a planed parent hood organization beliefs do not count? Obviously you confuse Nazi value system with their police but than again you probably have never been on the wrong side of a FBI raid on a marijuana clinic or for that matter having the jack boots knocking down your door because you have two wives. Nazi thinking comes in a lot of forms which all boil down to do it my way or I shot you.

      Have the experts explain publicly the risks of the Plan B drug to women's health. There are risks when any drug is taken ... that it may not work for example.
