Feed It Forward Participants Share Inspirational Stories as Giving Total Nears $50 Million

Restaurant.com’s Award-Winning Program Captures the Holiday Spirit with Free $10 eGift Cards

Arlington Heights, IL (PRWEB) December 15, 2011

Restaurant.com today announced that Feed It Forward, the company’s holiday program to celebrate the gift of giving, is rapidly approaching $50 million in total giveaways. Feed It Forward participants have already given away more than one million $10 eGift Cards this holiday season.

“We’re making a difference in many lives during this special time of year,” said Restaurant.com CEO Cary Chessick. “Our team at Restaurant.com is truly humbled by the significance, meaning and thoughtfulness behind all the notes we’ve received from people across the country.”

Feed It Forward givers and recipients continue to share their stories of gratitude.

“I was unemployed for a while and had some unexpected expenses,” said Rick Rivera of Fort Wayne, Ind. “I took full advantage to give these gift cards since there are so many people in need.”

Robin Shipman of Atlanta, Ga., decided to Feed It Forward with her co-workers. “I sent them gift cards and they were thrilled,” she said. “We all got pay cuts, so every little bit helps when you’re in that position.”

“I have found that the more a person gives, the more that’s given back,” said Lyn Esposito of Mount Laurel, N.J. “It made me feel honored to be able to give.”

An unexpected gift reunited Chi Nguyen with his college friend. “I had a great meal and we caught up on lost memories,” said Nguyen of Dorchester, Mass. “The gift card sparked the reunion of stories and laughs.”

Stacey Dolegowski of Randolph, N.J., was surprised to receive the Feed It Forward gift card. “It felt wonderful to be thought of during the holidays,” said Dolegowski. “Not only that, but with two kids and one income, it’s not easy to go out to eat.”

The gift of giving can make a world of difference, as it did for Michele Christie of Rochester, N.Y. “I was thankful for the surprise gift card,” she said. “Life gets going too fast. It was nice way to slow down and take my son on a date to remember what’s really important in life – people. Dinners out give us a chance to talk and to listen, without TV, video games and other distractions.”

Feed It Forward, created in 2008 when the economy crashed, enables participants to give free $10 Restaurant.com eGift Cards Thanksgiving through Christmas Day. Individuals can give up to 40 gifts per day to family, friends, co-workers, neighbors or anyone who deserves a kind gesture. There are no catches or gimmicks, and the Restaurant.com Gift Cards never expire.
