Horrible Bosses 2

In this sequel to 2011’s Horrible Bosses, Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Jamie Foxx, and Kevin Spacey return, but Sean Anders (That’s My Boy) takes over directing duties from Seth Gordon. The new story finds the hapless trio kidnapping Chris Pine in a ransom scheme to get back at his father, a shady investor played by Christoph Waltz. Horrible Bosses 2 opens on November 26th.

Denzel continues to Equalize

Denzel Washington reunites with his Training Day director Antoine Fuqua for this adaptation of the 1980s television show that starred Edward Woodward as Robert McCall, aka "The Equalizer." Washington’s version of McCall is a former black ops agent who faked his own death but comes out of retirement to help a girl played by Chloë Grace Moretz. She’s involved with the Russian mob, and soon McCall is too. The supporting cast includes Melissa Leo, Martin Csokas and Bill Pullman, and the latest trailer features a new song by Eminem and Sia. The Equalizer hits theaters on September 26th, and early buzz has been good as the film's premiere at TIFF approaches.

A portrait of Mr. Turner

At this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Timothy Spall won the best actor award for his portrayal of British landscape painter J.M.W. Turner in Mike Leigh’s lauded biopic Mr. Turner. This fifth collaboration between Leigh and Spall examines the last 25 years of Turner’s life as he struggles with depression after his father’s death. In addition to the leaps he made as a painter, the film focuses on his relationships with three important women in his life: the mother of his children (Ruth Sheen), his housekeeper (Dorothy Atkinson), and a widow he romances (Marion Bailey). One of the best-reviewed movies of the year so far, Mr. Turner comes to North American theaters on December 19th.

The Humbling

Al Pacino stars as an actor suffering from a mental breakdown and suicidal thoughts in The Humbling, director Barry Levinson’s adaptation of Philip Roth’s novel. When he retreats to his house in Connecticut, he strikes up a relationship with a young lesbian played by Greta Gerwig. The comedy earned mixed reviews when it premiered in Venice. No release date has been set, but here’s the first trailer from Deadline.

A new take on Cymbeline

Director Michael Almereyda re-teams with his Hamlet star, Ethan Hawke, to reimagine Shakespeare’s Cymbeline in a modern criminal underworld of drugs and biker gangs. Ed Harris stars as the titular character, whose daughter, Imogen (Dakota Johnson), attracts trouble in the form of Penn Badgley. Anton Yelchin. Milla Jovovich, John Leguizamo, and Delroy Lindo also star. Early reviews out of Venice have been poor, but Lionsgate plans on releasing the film next spring.

The ABCs of Death 2 trailer is V(very)NSFW

ABCs of Death 2 will be available on iTunes and On Demand on October 2nd before hitting theaters on October 31st. This sequel to last year’s horror anthology The ABCs of Death once again features a variety of directors' takes on the horrific possibilities of his/her/their chosen letter. Contributors include Bill Plympton, Larry Fessenden (Beneath), Rodney Ascher (Room 237), Vincenzo Natali (Splice), and the Soska Sisters (American Mary).
