The first trailer for Total Recall, starring Colin Farrell, was released on March 31, featuring an action-jammed 2:26 minutes of intrigue.
This remake of 1990's sci-fi thriller, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, is set in a future country called Euromerica pitted against the nation of New Shanghai, with Farrell's character Quaid suspecting he may be a spy, but unsure for which side.
The footage opens on a visit to Rekall, where dreams are turned into memories, and where a procedure goes wrong.
Based on Philip K. Dick's original short story "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale," the film includes stylish footage of chase scenes with free-falling vehicles and leaps through roofs.
"If I'm not me, who the hell am I?" Quaid wonders, teaming up with rebel fighters to elude authorities as he discovers his real identity -- or identities.
Costars include Kate Beckinsale (Underworld), Bryan Cranston (John Carter) and Jessica Biel (The A-Team) and is directed by Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard).
Total Recall opens August 2-3 in North America, Asian markets and Africa, followed on August 8-10 by Russia and Brazil, rolling out through European and South American markets through August, and debuting in Australia on September 6.
