Between Westlake and Tanglewood, Fort Worth has its fair share of expensive homes. However, Lazy H Ranch takes the cake for being the most expensive home currently on the market in Fort Worth at a whopping $15.9 million dollars.
Located at 319 Verna Trail Lane, this property sits on 50 acres, 26 minutes from downtown.
Joe Howe, current owner Sherry Chamberlin’s third child and only son, built the 6,500-square-foot, 5-bedroom home in 2022. The property boasts two guest casitas, an eight-stall horse stable and ranch hand cabin, which were built in 2014. Since this is in Cowtown, much of the property can be used for livestock.

Pipeline fencing marks the property’s boundaries, and guests drive up to a large Lazy H Ranch-branded gate. From there, a short gravel road takes you to the house, casitas, and barn.
Chamberlin does love her horses. She was always interested in finding a home within a short drive to Will Rogers Coliseum, a site popular for equestrian events. She found it in the property on Verna Trail Lane, where she has created a stylish retreat within a quick drive to the city.
A striking floor-to-ceiling marble fireplace greets you as you walk through the double steel front doors. The neutral light wood floors and marble countertops and accents give the Chamberlin house a quiet sophistication. Pops of color inside come from the selection of tile and interior design, done by Chamberlin herself.

Both indoor and outdoor spaces are cooled and heated by a geothermal heating system which can be controlled from a smart phone or iPad. The air exchange takes advantage of the consistent temperature differences between the air above ground and that underground.

Lazy H’s master bath not only has in-floor heated floors, it also has a bidet and electric-powered privacy shades. It’s custom $4,600 imported marble tub is bright and white. His and her sinks with a beautiful walk-in shower makes for a spacious spa-like oasis.
Continuing on the master theme, the walk-in closet is large and spacious with a storage island. An added bonus: This closet doubles as a safe room — it is insulated in steel.
The kitchen features a classic black and white marble backsplash. The island is a luxurious and modern waterfall counter top, hiding the microwave. Both dishwashers and the fridge blend into the wooden cabinetry. All appliances are commercial grade.
The dining room, which is located just off the kitchen, houses a 21-year-old dining table, the first piece of furniture that Chamberlin bought when she moved to Texas in 2003. This table can expand up to 15 feet. The furniture in the house can be added to the sale. Chamberlin said she is willing to negotiate.

Moving outdoors to the barn and horse stable, which has eight oversized horse stalls with automatic water feeders. Past the stalls, an office, laundry room, garages, and an upstairs apartment completes this massive barn.
The garage can fit any size RV. Chamberlin keeps her 45-foot land yacht with its slideouts opened in the massive barn. The garage has its own septic system, water and power sources, making it convenient for RV owners.
The apartment above the barn has two cozy bedrooms, a bathroom, and kitchen, sans a dishwasher. The casitas nearby each have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and outdoor kitchens.
The property currently has ten horses, two white cows, and chickens, though it can fit much more livestock. The chicken coop is insulated with automatic water feeders. The house and barn runs on a septic system and is supported by two water wells on the property.
