MANITOWOC – Manitowoc Tool & Machining continues to grow at breakneck speed.

Hamann Construction recently broke ground on a 59,125-square-foot addition to the company’s building in Manitowoc’s Interstate 43 Technology and Enterprise Campus.

Manitowoc Tool & Machining’s tremendous growth in the past year led to the need to transition this location from a distribution center into a production facility, according to a news release. The renovation will increase the plant size by more than 101,000 square feet, and also includes the addition of two more interior loading docks, a restroom and an office/conference room mezzanine.

Construction is expected to be completed in August.

Last summer, Hamman constructed the 42,500-square-foot, pre-engineered warehouse and office space for Manitowoc Tool & Manufacturing in the tech park. At the time, Manitowoc Tool needed the custom space as a result of expanded operations — and that need continues to grow.

Manitowoc Tool specializes in high-volume metal stamping, metal fabrication, tool and die, robotic welding, Computer Numerical Control machining, water jet cutting, laser cutting and assembly.

The company also has been in acquisition mode.

In the past year, Manitowoc Tool acquired Kaukauna-based MVI Machine Company and has continued operations as is with MVI operating under its current name. MVI produces parts for a variety of industries, including mining, power generation, defense, aerospace and oil/gas.

The company also acquired GV Machining in May 2023.

“We see many avenues for continued growth, including sharing best practices and industry knowledge,” MTM President Rick Swoboda said at the time.
