After celebrating the remodeling of its Walmart Supercenter in Victorville, company officials are looking to give its Apple Valley store a major facelift.

Walmart officials announced Monday that remodeling construction has begun at the Walmart at 20251 Highway 18 in Apple Valley.

The major remodeling project is expected to bring a fresh, modern shopping experience to the heart of Apple Valley, company officials stated.

The remodeling project includes:

  • A newly renovated and expanded pharmacy

  • A brand-new community-focused mural

  • New signage and displays

  • Newly renovated restrooms

  • A brand-new mother’s room

One of many scheduled remodels for California in 2024, the work is part of the company's commitment to invest in the communities it serves.

Following the project, which will take several weeks to complete, Walmart associates in Apple Valley will host a community celebration to show off its new “in-store experience.”

In addition to the remodel, the Apple Valley Walmart will continue offering innovations like in-store pickup, contact-free delivery, and Walmart Pay for a touch-free payment experience. These services are designed to save customers time and money, enabling them to shop how, when, and where they prefer.

Store employees told the Daily Press that they've been asked daily if the Apple Valley Walmart is closing. The response has always been, "No, we are not closing, just remodeling."

Victorville Walmart Supercenter

The Victorville Walmart Supercenter at 12234 Palmdale Rd celebrated its grand re-opening on May 3, following a transformative remodel.

Managers and associates held a community celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the unveiling of a new community-focused mural and thepresentation of $3,000 in grants to local Victorville organizations.

During the celebration, Victorville Walmart Supercenter manager Amy Cortez highlighted the transformed departments and newly offered services now available to customers, including:

  • A newly built pharmacy

  • A brand-new consultation room

  • A renovated Vision Center

  • Remodeled customer restrooms

  • A brand-new mother’s room

  • Expanded apparel and electronics departments

  • An overall refreshed appearance of the store, including new signage and displays.

"We couldn't be happier to welcome our customers back to our transformed supercenter today,” Cortez said.” One of the most exciting changes is our new pharmacy, which includes a private consultation room. With this and all of the Supercenter’s upgrades, we're able to make our customers’ shopping experience more seamless and enjoyable.”

As part of Walmart’s dedication to the Victorville community, the Supercenter’s manager and associates presented grants to local nonprofit organizations, including:

  • $1,000 to Curbside Community Center

  • $1,000 to Dare U To Be Different Ministries

  • $1,000 to Take Up Your Cross, INC

Upgrades at the store include:

  • Activated corners: Exciting displays are featured at the corners of certain departments to pull customers in and help them touch, feel, and become a part of the space, allowing them to discover all that Walmart has to offer.

  • Elevated departments: Transformed Supercenter feature displays showcasing products that are out of their boxes so customers can imagine them fitting into their daily lives.

  • More space to discover: Walmart has purposefully created more space for customers to explore and discover the breadth and depth of what their local Supercenter offers them.

  • Pickup – Walmart’s Pickup option has become a favorite among busy shoppers. It provides the convenience of online shopping and allows them to quickly collect their groceries without stepping out of their vehicles. The best part is that Walmart Grocery Pickup is completely free of charge. Furthermore, customers using SNAP in most states have the option to avail themselves of the pickup service as well.

  • Delivery – Walmart’s convenient delivery service is also a hit with customers. Even more, Walmart has now made both pickup and delivery contact free. Express delivery customers now have the option to have their deliveries made in under two hours.

  • Walmart Pay – a touch-free way to pay.

  • Walmart+ – Walmart+ is a membership program designed to save members time and money on their everyday essentials, and more.
