Is bigger always better? That's the question McDonald's hopes to answer with the newest addition to its menu.

Fox Business reported that earlier this week, McDonald's CFO Ian Borden revealed that the fast food restaurant will soon launch a "larger satiating burger."

"We’ll be testing this burger in a few markets later this year, ensuring that it has universal appeal before scaling it across the globe," Borden said.

No stranger to beefing up its menu items, McDonald's recently brought back its Double Big Mac for a limited time. Quite the behemoth, the Double Big Mac is made using four beef patties. And back in December, the company said that it planned to roll out larger burgers as a way to attract customers looking for a good deal.

Prior to rolling out the Double Big Mac, McDonald's promised they would change their burgers to bring customers the "best burgers ever." The revamped burgers, which were introduced this year, included more sauce on Big Macs, meltier cheese, fresher lettuce and pickles, and several other tweaks.

Although some customers might immediately see dollar signs when phrases like "best burger ever" and "larger satiating burger" are tossed around, McDonald's claims it's shifting its focus to affordability. They plan to do this by developing a "national value offer" that will be more robust than the deals currently offered.

The announcement comes as Mickey D's continues to lose customers to Burger King, Domino's, and other fast food restaurants offering a better value on food.

"It’s a street fight. Everybody is fighting for fewer consumers. We have to make sure we have that street fighting capability,” Borden told analysts.

This might be the tastiest street fight we've ever come across.
