John F. Shoro, managing partner at Bowditch & Dewey LLP, was recently named a Go-To Taxation Lawyer by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.

Shoro helps business owners, professionals and executives with sophisticated tax and planning needs. He works with clients in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Florida, often serving as a personal representative and trustee for trust and estate clients.

Shoro is the immediate past leader of Bowditch’s estate, financial, & tax planning practice. Best Lawyers in America honored him as “Lawyer of the Year” in 2020, 2022 and 2024 for his work in trust and estates, and the publication has also cited his work in elder and tax law. Massachusetts Super Lawyers, meanwhile, has included him in its directory every year since 2004 for his estate planning and probate work.

A graduate of Boston College, Shoro holds a law degree and master of laws in taxation from Boston University.

Dr. Patrick Cushing was recently promoted to vice president of operations of Rentschler Biopharma Inc., the Milford-based U.S. subsidiary of Rentschler Biopharma SE.

The company is a leading global contract development and manufacturing organization for biopharmaceuticals.

In this newly created position, Cushing oversees and manages all operational processes at the site.

He joined Rentschler Biopharma in 2021 and had most recently served as senior director of manufacturing operations. He holds more than a decade of experience in structure-based drug discovery and large molecule process development.

Dianne Brady, of the Amego School in Franklin, was recently issued the Excellence in Teaching Award by the Massachusetts Association of Approved Special Education Schools (MAAPS).

She was honored for her above and beyond effort toward the education of her students, according to a press release from MAAPS.

Brady has received a Sheltered English Emersion endorsement from the Department of Education and is finishing up work on a master's degree.

The Massachusetts Association of Approved Special Education Schools represents more than 80 approved schools for students with special needs in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

Ethan Miller, a building envelope sciences technician at Hopkinton-based Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects, recently achieved certification from the Passive House Institute US (PHIUS).
