Fire crews on the scene of Princess Anne Health & Rehabilitation Center

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Four people were transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire at the Princess Anne Health & Rehabilitation Center on Saturday.

Virginia Beach Fire Department responded to the incident on Landstown Centre around 5:40 p.m. Twenty-six were displaced and management was able to relocate the residents within their facility in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake.

The facility confirmed a fire occurred at the site in a social media post:

“Last evening, a small fire began when an electrical device belonging to one of our residents malfunctioned. Thank you to our staff’s swift response, along with the local Fire & EMS. The fire was easily contained in that room, and no one was injured. We appreciate our local firefighters and staff who worked together to keep all our residents safe.”
