Every photo has a story, and on this Thanksgiving, Yahoo! News asked readers to share one photo, and the story behind it, that holds meaning for them. Here's one.
FIRST PERSON | The first Thanksgiving that I celebrated with my son is more memorable to me than it will be to him. I continue to be thankful for having a healthy, beautiful child, a loving family and a warm house to live in.
On this day in 2011, I was not sure how my son, Heru, would react to having a house full of loud people. He is sometimes shy, but he wasn't that day. He was filled with a positive, playful energy, which made it easier for me to enjoy myself, knowing my son was having a pleasant time.
His grandfather was engrossed in a serious conversation when Heru spent some time in his arms. About five minutes after handing him off, I went to make sure everything was all right. It was a nice surprise to see Heru decided to take a nap right in his grandfather's arms!
I ran to get the camera so that we can remember this memory for many years to come.
Later on, his grandfather exclaimed, "I didn't even know he was asleep!"
