Yahoo! News asked voters to pinpoint one single issue they'd like to see addressed at the Democratic National Convention. Here are one voter's thoughts.
When I retired 22 years ago at age 65, I had an adequate combined income from my company pension and Social Security. Since then, my income has increased 10 percent, while costs for the basic necessities I need to live have jumped up to 50 percent. I live in Los Angeles and here the prices continue to climb at the grocery store, gas pump and everywhere else.
I'd appreciate it if the delegates to the Democratic National Convention would address the financial problems of the elderly. We're the ones who worked all our lives, raised our families, paid our taxes, fought the wars and lived the American dream of earning financially secure retirement years.
