5 ‘American Idol’ Contestants You Should Be Watching This Season

Though there were many ups and downs during Wednesday’s American Idol, we selected the singers to watch out for in the final season.

The quirky Jenn Blosil has been captivating the judges since her soulful audition. This week she got emotional after she thought she didn’t give a song justice.

“Guyliner”-wearing Dalton Rapattoni sang “Hopelessly Devoted to You.” However, he has no memory of it. In an interview, he said things got cloudy after he strummed the first chord of his song.

The off-the-grid farm girl Jeneve Rose Mitchell gave an emotional performance of “Danny’s Song.”

MacKenzie Bourg sang his original song “Roses,” impressing the judges so much that Keith Urban said, “It’s like the lost track of Ed Sheeran.”

All of that notwithstanding, the most emotional performance was from Tristan McIntosh, with a dedication to her mother, who surprised her at the auditions by coming back from her military service overseas.

American Idol airs Wednesdays and Thursday at 8 pm on FOX.
