The Flash Casts Spartacus's Liam McIntyre as a Major Villain

Another Spartacus alum is joining the The CW's ever-expanding DC Comics universe. According to TV Line, The Flash has tapped the late Starz epic's leading man, Liam McIntyre, to play new Weather Wizard Mark Mardon—a.k.a. the brother of Clyde, the baddie who died in the show's pilot.

Mark will visit Central City in Episodes 15 and 16 to exact vengeance on Joe (Jesse L. Martin) for killing his sibling back in the fall, and just like Clyde, his metahuman powers will allow him to control the weather.

McIntyre is the first Spartacus alum to swing by Central City, but the fifth to appear in the show's expanded universe. Four of his former castmates have already made waves in Arrow's Starling City, including Manu Bennett (as Slade Wilson), Cynthia Addai-Robinson (as Amanda Waller), Katrina Law (as Nyssa al Ghul), and Nick Tarabay (as Captain Boomerang).

And just in case McIntyre's casting isn't enough Flash news to tide you over until Barry and the rest of the Star Labs gang return to our TV screens on Tuesday, January 20, The CW has released a new promo featuring Wentworth Miller reprising his role as Captain Cold, plus a first look at Dominic Purcell's Heat Wave and Andy Mientus's Pied Piper!
