Fluor names Lynn Swann to board, increases board size to 13

IRVING, Texas (AP) -- Fluor Corp. said Monday that it has elected Pro Football Hall of Famer Lynn Swann to its board of directors.

The construction and engineering company said that his appointment increases the size of its board to 13 members.

Swann is president of Swann Inc., a marketing and consulting firm he founded in 1976. He also serves on the board of Caesar's Entertainment Corp., American Homes 4 Rent and Hershey Entertainment and Resorts, a private company.

He helped the National Football League's Pittsburgh Steelers win four Super Bowls in the 1970s and 1980s and was a sports commentator for ABC for nearly 30 years. He mounted an unsuccessful run for governor in Pennsylvania in 2006.

Fluor's chairman and CEO said that Swann brings a unique marketing perspective and personal energy from outside its own traditional engineering and construction fields.

Shares of the Irving, Texas, company fell 10 cents to $74.81 by midmorning.
