    “We are sorry. Cuts must be made all across the board. Unfortunately, we have to let you go.” Those were the last words Mark Cruz had heard at his last full time job.

    “It was a surreal experience,” he recalls. “I was so confused, and so lost initially. I had no idea what to do, but I was pretty confident that I could find a new job pretty fast.” His confidence however was short lived. His situation would only worsen as more than a year of personal strife, unemployment, financial uncertainty, and a global economic crisis followed.

    After sending endless job applications, and receiving numerous denial letters for 14 months, Mark decided on taking a different approach. “I decided that finding employment was not working out for me. That realization led me to the development of FocusWorks Media.”
