Football: Tonga's Oceania Nations Cup win to benefit Ferns

A huge win over Tonga in the Oceania Nations Cup has double benefits for the Football Ferns.

Coach Tony Readings says the 16-nil win in the World Cup qualifying opener gives them a solid platform for the tournament, but also shows they have a game plan that works well in the heat.

He says its hugely important to know that they can perform well in the heat with the Olympics and World Cup coming up shortly.

The Football Ferns play Papua New Guinea on Monday.
