Forecasters: Erin is a tropical storm again in eastern Atlantic

MIAMI - Erin is a tropical storm again in the eastern Atlantic although it still poses no threat to land.

The storm's maximum sustained winds Friday evening were 40 mph (64 kph), with higher gusts.

Erin is centred about 715 miles (1,150 kilometres) west-northwest of the Cape Verde Islands and is moving northwest at 16 mph (26 kph), with a gradual decrease in speed forecast for the next day or so.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami says the storm is expected to change little in strength over the next two days.
