Investigators say Conaboy intentionally led his clients to believe he settled a malpractice lawsuit for $700,000 when in reality the case was dismissed. He signed two court documents pretending to be a judge that stated his clients would be paid out $700,000, according to court records.

In this case, Conaboy admitted to lying to his clients.

The court sentenced Conaboy to spend 2-24 months in prison, serve 10 years probation, and pay $3,298.88 to the PA Office of Attorney General.

The sentencing noted that Conaboy would be granted immediate parole upon serving the minimum sentence.

Conaboy has also been disbarred after resigning from his position.
