Jesus started the "Jewish Spring" as a Jew who was fed up with the corruption of the Jewish high priests. It was more in the financial interests of the Jewish high priests to see him dead than it was for the Romans who could have cared less about Jewish intra-faith issues. The Romans only wanted calm among the rabble of all faiths, but what they got was something completely different...

Judas betrayed him and turned him in, the High Priests and the Jewish crowd thought him guilty of blasphemy and demanded his death, Pilate gave in and ordered his death, and the Roman executioners nailed him to the cross. All these parties were responsible for the crucifixion of Christ. But realize this, no one was more in control of Jesus' destiny than Jesus himself.

In Gethsemane, he knew the soldiers were coming for him. He could have fled, but he chose to stay and be captured without a fight.

He could have remained silent at his trial before the Sanhedrin, leaving them no grounds by which they could order his death, but instead he declared himself to be the Son of God, a statement wrongly considered to be blasphemous by his accusers.

He had already demonstrated remarkable powers, everything from healing to control over the forces of nature. He could have freed himself from captivity at any time and escape, but he instead submitted to the punishment, despite being completely innocent.

Jesus willingly gave himself up to be killed. It was his goal, his mission, the entire purpose of his time on earth. He died in the place of sinners. He was offered as a sacrifice, taking a cruel, torturous, fatal punishment he didn't deserve so that those who repent and place their faith in him can be cleansed of their sinfulness, forgiven for their sins, and saved from punishment.

So it wasn't Pilate or the Jews or the High Priests who caused Jesus's death. I have sinned, so Christ had to die to save me, which he did willingly. All have sinned and fall short of God's standard. And not I, nor any human being, could have been saved had Christ not died.

Has FOX nothing better to do than stir up trouble between people?

2.Run for president of the united states.

3.Shoot doctors or anybody else.

4.Beat homosexuals.

5.Picket funerals.

6.Burn a cross.

7.Join a militia, armed force or own a weapon.

8.Harass single moms.

9.Attack the poor.

10.Run a network.

11.Watch fox news or glenn beck.

12.Celebrate x-mas

The romans tortured and crucified Jesus at the instigation and behest of the Jewish religious leaders - fact not fiction.

Also fact not fiction is that many Jews had no issue with Jesus, but it was the minority that were behind his eventual death because he represented a threat not only to their status quo as religious leaders, but even more so financially because of the way Jesus protested how they had turned a house of God into a den of thieves during passover with their egregious charges for "official" items for sacrificial offerings.

But...why is that offensive if that is possibly what happened in the bible? That's like saying it's offensive to say that whites enslaved blacks.....or that it's offensive to say that Catholics had gone through a (long) period in which they executed anyone who wasn't Catholic.

Though, my grandparents are Catholic and they have a hard time coming to terms with their religion's dark past. But just because it's upsetting doesn't mean it didn't happen...

let us see it this way... first Christ death and resurrection was all a prophecy ordained by God for our redemption had it happened Christ didn't freely give his life we all would have been slaves to sin but his death was like his betrayal which was as well prophecied. now you might want to ask if Judas was actual born for the purpose of betrayal but remember when asking this question that what Peter did was the same as what Judas did the only difference here was Peter had a heart of repentance so he did but for Judas he made his own choice.So this is just simple ''NO DEATH OF CHRIST NO FREEDOM FOR HUMANITY'' so i say Jesus thank you for your Death and Resurrection

The Answer is not only in Christian documents, but ancient Hebrew records denote the answer...
It was the Temple Priest whom DEMANDED that Jesus Christ be put to death...
Now the question is, whom are the "Hebrew Temple Priest?" Are the Jews now claiming
that they have no historical TIES or CLAIMS to the "Hebrew Temple Priest"/Temple Mount? If so, are they now willing to pull out of said lands they now have under their control, i.e. Jerusalem? Ommmmm..
Must be nice, to pick, choice, and change history about to fit your needs from one day to the next.... ...

Nat Geo sucks. It is obviously biassed and full of lies in an attempt to discredit the Catholic Church.

Jesus was born to die. He said that no one had the power over His death except that which God the Father would allow. The truth is that we, everyone, is resonsible for the death of Jesus. Not Jew or Gentile, nor the priests or Pilate.

Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was Jewish Himself. Pontius Pilate tryed to release Jesus but , the High Priests and the Jews present would not have it. In the Biblical view the real killers of Jesus was you and me, he died for us sinners willingly and sits at the right hand of God the Father. He loved us while we yet hated Him. Jesus is alive and well, will you receive Him and be saved? That is the important question.

Since when is it wrong to ask a question to create conversation! The PC crap is just getting ridicules! The question is outdated, since we already know that they all were responsible for the death of Christ: Pontius Pilate, The Jewish People or the High Priests! Look it up in the bible! The answer should be D. all the above!

This world needs to quit apologizing for every confounded thing. It was a poll of belief. The Jews need to keep it down and be happy we deigned to liberate them in 1945. Bunch of loudmouths... and for all you Jesus-haters, He did exist... historical fact there. Beyond that, believe what you will about His divinity. And Pilate had Him crucified. He could've cared less about a bunch of hollering Sanhedrin and Pharisees...

the romans evidently did the actual crucifixion. At the insistence of the Jewish leaders... the pharisees, saducees, High priest, etc. But it is important to note that they could have done nothing without Divine permission. And as for the rest of humanity, we probably would have done the same thing had we been in their shoes. But is was for our salvation that Jesus willingly went to that cross, to pay for our sin debt and purchase a place for us that He offers as a free gift. The gift is received by faith.
