Fox News Channel Leads Cable News Nets As Oregon Community College Shooting News Breaks
Fox News Channel was the most watched cable news network during 2-4 PM ET coverage of breaking news out of Oregon on Thursday, averaging 1.7 million viewers and 294K news demo viewers. That’s up 46% and 151%, respectively, compared with same day last year.
CNN clocked 1.04M viewers, with 240K of them news demo viewers, as it covered the shooting at Umpqua Community College. CNN was up 107% and 67%, respectively, compared with same day in 2014.
MSNBC’s Brian Williams-anchored coverage of the country’s latest school shooting came in third among cable news nets, averaging 434K viewers, up 42% compared to same day last year, and 83K news demo viewers, up 124%.
